OUR HERITAGE

Oudh Cocogem was established in 1925 by late Mr. Roop Narain Mehrotra and his brothers, at Lucknow, India as a department store serving the elites of the state of Oudh (present day state of Uttar Pradesh), India. Located at a prominent vantage at the heart of the city center, Hazratgunj, the store the counted the Nawabs of Oudh, The British Viceroy of Oudh and the state's elites amongst its distinguished customers.

The brothers diversified the business into logistics and distribution of FMCG, pharmaceuticals & textiles with the family distributing and providing warehousing and logistic support to the leading companies. By 1960's the family was identified for bouquet of FMCG companies, notably the iconic distribution of Nestle India, Lucknow's most prominent pharmacy and a peppy liquor distribution business, amongst its other business interests. Till date, the family enjoys a special place in the FMCG distribution business in India and is one of the most respected family-owned trading houses in Lucknow, India. In its present form, having exited the distribution and logistics businesses in 2015, the Oudh Cocogem group largely retains interest in developing eco-friendly, commercial real estate.

In 2019, Cocogem Fund was established in Singapore by the scion of the family, Gagan Mehrotra, who is a prominent banker and international asset manager. Singapore as a choice of pivoting the international wealth and asset management business stems from Singapore offering a business friendly, politically stable, legally sturdy and a supportive central bank jurisdiction. The investment manager for the Cocogem Fund is duly regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and US Securities Exchange Commission.
